Welcome! Your service as a Director of the Minneapolis Municipal Retirement Association begins on January 1, 2011.

The first meeting of the Association's Board of Directors for the year will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at the The Depot Resturant in Downtown Minneapolis.

This is the Board's traditional "organizational" meeting, the year's only special, off-site banquet event for officers and directors. A combination social opportunity, sit-down dinner, and brief business meeting, it is an excellent opportunity to meet and get to know your fellow board members and some of the Association's lawyers and lobbyists. The attire and the atmousphere are dressy-casual, at most.

Subsequent meetings will be held in the United Labor Centre, usually in one of the second floor meeting rooms. There should be at least one meeting each month, with additional meetings scheduled, as needed, when the Minnesota State Legislature is in session.

In the next several weeks, and at the organizational meeting, Michael Paul Weber, the Association's Office Projects Coordinator, will be providing some materials to the officers and directors which might be of use as we begin another interesting and focused year in support of our members' MERF pension benefits.
